A new blog for a new family

After much encouragement (& scolding) from my more tech savvy family members, we're happy to finally launch the Iverson's Franco-American Blog, a transatlantic link for keeping in touch with our widely dispersed family and friends, and for sharing the events of our daily lives--which has changed in so many ways since the birth of Miloïg David Iverson on May 25 2011.  

Milo is named, for those who hadn't heard, after my paternal grandfather Milo (Miloïg means 'little' Milo in Breton, the language of Perrine's ancestors) and after my maternal great grandfather David.  

How fast the weeks seem to have flown by, and how many visits we've had, since Milo came to us! We had a long visit from Perrine's mom, Françoise who shared her maternal wisdom with us, while keeping us fed and sharing our joy. Jean-Guy, Perrine's father, of course has been a constant presence as well - both Françoise and Jean-Guy have embraced whole-heartedly their new roles as grandmother and grandfather - or maminou and papitou as they go by in French! 

We've enjoyed having visits from Perrine's aunts and uncles and cousins as well - François, Jean-Guy's brother, and his wife Adeline; Jean-Guy's sisters Catherine (and her daughter Paule) and Anne, as well as Anne's daughter's Léonor and Olympe. Perrine's uncle Lucien Yvinec, Françoise's brother, popped by for a visit as well while he was in Paris for correcting the baccalaureat exams (unfortunately Milo was a bit upset following his dinner as was not in the mood for photos that day).

Most of Milo's aunts and uncles and grandparents are far from Paris, so we have been so happy to feel the warmth of Milo's nearby extended family of great aunts and uncles and cousins over the last weeks.
