A lot to be thankful for...

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and it was a special one this year, Milo's first, and a time for us to think how much we have to be thankful for! Just in the few weeks surrounding Thanksgiving, our days were filled with music and dance, friends and family, and lots of wonderful meals.

While dad was busy at home, Perrine and Milo spent a nice weekend afternoon with several friends, including Charlotte and Dominique and their daughter Anna, attending a dance performance specially tailored to young aficiandos.

Parents and kids loved the show, the lead dancer, Celine, is the sister of a close friend.

We also had a chance to visit our friends Nico and Severine, who just had their first child together, a beautiful baby girl named Anaïs. Miloïg is happy he's not the only kid in Paris with a umlaut on his name!

We had a nice afternoon of tea and cakes, and playing with Severine's son William, who is a very proud brother indeed.

William was very helpful keeping Milo occupied as well, and had him laughing as we've rarely heard him with his peek and boo game. 

Perrine and I were lucky enough to share Thanksgiving this year with our friends Manal and Fabien. The first time I made a Thanksgiving dinner in Paris, years ago when Perrine and I were living in a tiny one room apartment, Manal shared it with is, so it was wonderful to do it again. 

Milo was clearly happy to have his first Thanksgiving with Manal too.

Manal and Fabien brought a wonderful first course for our meal - fresh Prat-ar-coum oysters from Brittany! What a nice addition to the meal – and who knows, the first Thanksgiving probably included oysters as well after all, taking place so near the ocean!

Though they probably did not have Burgundy wine, we like that addition too (thanks Manal!)

It was quite a feast, thanks notably to the wonderful pies that Perrine made - pumpkin and walnut pie, made like a pecan pie only better!

We are very thankful to have friends like Manal and Fabien. We are lucky to be blessed with such bounty too, there were so many leftovers we had the whole meal again the next day with papitou (grandpa) Jean-Guy.

We're thankful to have Jean-Guy with us in Paris, we miss our other parents/grandparents, so it's nice to have a dad and a grandpa around!

He and Perrine shared a lovely song with Milo on Thanksgiving, Colchique dans le près, a sweet song about autumn, with a leaf maminou Françoise collected for Milo in Brittany this autumn.

We have much to be thankful for indeed.
