Autumn in Paris (and Toulouse)

We had a great autumn this year, full of music, parties, visits from friends, and trips.

We celebrated Papitou / grandpa Jean-Guy's birthday, which was also a time for us to raise a glass to his retirement.

We went to a great exhibition of Sebastiao Salgado's amazing photography.

We had lazy weekend pajama breakfasts

A merry-go-round or two...

And the occasional apéritif out on the town.

Milo's first Halloween celebration at day care...

He came home with a lot of loot!

We had some great musical dinners with our friends downstairs, Dan and Corrine and their son Joah, who is Milo's age. Dan has gotten Milo crazy about the guitar.

We had a wonderful visit from our dear friends Stephanie and Terence from New York, in town for a work conference and with their unbelievably cute baby boy Izzy!

We went over to see Carlos at the Spanish ham shop in the neigborhood.

Stephanie and Terence brought Milo a gift from their hometown!

And one of the best things about this autumn was our trip down in Toulouse to see our friends Damien and Aurélie and their family, and Milo's Tata Lulu / aunt Lucie.

It was a chance for us to meet for the first time Aurélie and Damien's new baby girl, Romane.

Milo thought she was pretty fun.

Milo taking after his great grandfather and namesake, who was a great accordion player!

Milo liked Romane's big brothers too, Aubin and Noé. (And their toys!)

When it was time to go, aunt Lucy and her boyfriend Frédéric came to pick us up. First though, Lucy, a seasoned cyclist, gave Milo a few lessons.

Lucy and Frédéric were fantastic tour guides, taking us around around the region, for example to Albi, birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec, with a gorgeous cathedral...

(Frédéric is a great photographer, and below you'll see some of his portraits in color and black and white peppered in with the photos.)

good ice cream...

lovely architecture...

And musical interludes on the road...

Lucy and Frédéric showed us their Toulouse, the city of love...

We had picnics and botanical discoveries galore...

We finally headed back home, leaving behind the Indian summer of Toulouse, and into another winter in Paris!
