Easter

At just shy of three years old, this was Milo's first Easter when he was really able to fully partake in the holiday fun. With some help from his grandparents, the Easter bunny made a visit to 18 rue Juliette Dodu to drop off a sizable chocolate Easter egg. We each had a soft-boiled, oeuf à la coque for breakfast. We read our traditional Easter morning book 'Roxanna and the Easter Egg' (well, mostly interpreted the pictures), and played with an Easter-themed sticker book.

We then hopped on the train to go spend Easter weekend just north of Paris in Picardy at the country home of our friends Manal and Fabien. Fabien was away on vacation himself, and Manal was home alone with the cat, so along with another good friend, Marie-Laure, we came to keep Manal company and celebrate with a traditional American Easter dinner.

And we visited the animals at some nearby farms

Finally, we had a big al fresco Easter dinner of ham and scalloped potatoes

The next morning, we learned that the Easter bunny came and visited Manal's house as well, and left behind some surprises in the garden.

A little red ribbon with a bell tied to a branch in the garden marked the spot where the hunt should start. Milo got his holidays briefly mixed up when the red ribbon made Milo think of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer...

After the Easter Egg hunt, we had a good lunch, and then Milo got to enjoy his booty.
