A Week of Firsts

Daily life for a 4 month year old is almost by definition a series of firsts of course, but this last week that especially seemed to be the case.

First off – yes, the day had to come, and it did, Milo's first week at daycare! We're quite lucky to have a great daycare in a recently renovated building a five minute walk away situated along the Canal Saint Martin.

The week went very well, and the change seemed to be harder on his parents than on Milo. (Perrine headed back to work after 6 months and I really started getting used to the more 'traditional' early to rise early to bed routine.) Sure Milo has been stuffed up with a cold ever since his first day, but he is building is immune system well and is very well liked and cared for by the team of women there.

And with Milo away all day long it certainly makes us appreciate being with him at the end of the day all the more. Even when he comes home wearing someone else's onesie. (How did that happen?)

Some more firsts this week came by mail – one day, Milo got his first letter.

Milo said thank you by Skype afterwards – Rachel and Will are the best cousins ever!

Two other things came in the mail as well – Milo's passports, yes both of them!

Milo is now officially a dual national, a real Franco-American, lucky guy. (Or at least he and his egg-headed twin brother are... we were a little confused by the treatment his picture was given in his US passport!)

We find time to have some fun at the piano in the evening as well.

Milo even took his first shot at Pachelbel's Canon. I'm sure he'll improve with practice...

 

In the end, daycare can be exhausting business. This was definitely the first time we've ever seen him quite so lethargic at the end of the day!
